Mary Lorraine Fetherolf, Chief Warrant Officer 5

Mary Fetherolf had a 30+ year career in the military, advancing herself to the rank of CW5 – Chief Warrant Officer 5 - the highest rank of Warrant Officer in the Army. It is so rare, out of the 28,000 currently enlisted as CWO's today, only 1,400 have achieved it, 3 to 4%.

Those who do advance to CW5 are called "unicorns” in some circles, which is a pretty good way to describe my mom.
